Milano Wellness City 2030: Technogym Donates an Open-Air gym to Indro Montanelli Public Gardens

25 settembre 2024

The first Technogym Outdoor Island was inaugurated at the Indro Montanelli Gardens in Milan, an innovative, free, open-air fitness area equipped with smart machines and access to personalized training programs. The initiative, part of the Milano Wellness City 2030 project, aims to promote well-being and physical activity within the city’s green spaces.

As part of the city’s journey toward Milano Wellness City 2030, September 2024 saw the launch of the first Technogym Outdoor Island within the Indro Montanelli Public Gardens, located in the Porta Venezia district.

This cutting-edge outdoor fitness facility, donated by Technogym in partnership with the Municipality of Milan, is available to all citizens. Designed as an accessible, safe, and inclusive space, it allows people of all ages and fitness levels to exercise freely in a public setting.

Each island is thoughtfully designed to maximize space and provide a wide range of workout options. Using the QR codes on the equipment, users can access a digital library of exercises and customized programs via their smartphones, tailored to different goals and fitness profiles. Through the Technogym App, users can follow their personalized training plans, enhanced by AI-powered technology that adjusts content based on individual needs.
The facility has been built with long-term sustainability in mind. Durable materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and concrete ensure weather resistance, easy maintenance, and recyclability, combining technological innovation with environmental responsibility.

The official opening was attended by numerous public officials and prominent figures from the world of sports, including:

  • Giovanni Malagò, President of Fondazione Milano Cortina
  • Elena Grandi, Councillor for Environment and Green Spaces, Municipality of Milan
  • Lamberto Bertolé, Councillor for Welfare and Health, Municipality of Milan, and President of the Italian Healthy Cities Network – WHO
  • Mattia Abdu Ismahil, President of Municipality 1 – Historic Center
